Meet Dr. Richard Farina

Dentistry means everything to me. It has shaped the type of person I have become and all that I have been able to accomplish in life. It has provided a way of meaningfully helping others, not only to improve their oral health, but also to alleviate chronic pain and discomfort while obtaining improvement in physical appearance that has bettered their lives and self-image.

My profession is often extremely challenging, always changing, and never dull or boring. It's practice has always been gratifying. Over these last 30 years, I have been able to serve many different people whose lives have been unduly burdened by many kinds of challenges.

The most exciting thing for me has been restoring patients to aesthetic function when they thought that they were beyond help. I have had so many cases where patients believed they would suffer the rest of their lives with missing teeth, bad smiles, or even no teeth. Using the extensive training and advanced technology we have available in this office has decisively changed their lives.

I look forward to meeting you and your family and using what my team and I have learned, along with the advanced technology to which we uniquely have access, to ensure you receive the oral health and smile of your dreams.

Education and continuing education

  • Northeastern University; Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with Honors
  • Tufts University School of Dental Medicine; Doctorate of Medical Dentistry

As a dental professional, I am responsible for ensuring that my patients receive only the highest quality care. That is why I am constantly involved in continuing education and advanced skills training. These opportunities often take me across the country, as I seek the most advanced dental education possible.

It has been my experience that it is only in keeping up with the latest technologies, materials, and procedures, that I am able to provide the finest care and widest variety of options to our patients.

Professional organizations

One of the most effective means of remaining vital within my chosen discipline is by working with others that have chosen to dedicate themselves to the same path. Having access to the newest research, and improvements in clinical procedures and best practices, affords me the most treatment options to offer my patients.

It is for those reasons that I am actively involved in the following professional organizations:

  • American Dental Association
  • American Dental Implant Association
  • New Hampshire Pharmaceutical Association
  • Southeast Regional Dental Association

Away from work

I reside in Dover, NH and have two daughters. I am most passionate about my family and close friends, and trying to make a positive difference in their lives. When I am not involved in work or pursuing educational opportunities, I try to keep active. I am especially fond of the outdoors, and enjoy snow skiing, snowboarding, hiking, water skiing, golf, and scuba diving.

In the community

I have been enriched by being a part of my community and by the people with whom I have come into contact throughout my life. I believe in doing what I can to make the world a better place.

I have been an active member in The Order Sons of Italy in America for well over 20 years. This is a nonprofit, international organization, with state and local affiliates. The group has provided millions of dollars to many worthwhile causes such as research involving Alzheimer's, cancer, and Cooley's anemia. I have had the privilege of holding positions at the local, state, and national levels over the years.

I have also supported various local organizations such as Gerry's food pantry. I have found these are very effective means of alleviating unnecessary sadness and suffering within our community.
